Hey there my name is Becca, wife, mama
sushi muncher and baby snuggler.
My husband and I got married June 14, 2014 and soon (like 2 days later) moved to Iowa
While in Iowa we experienced quite a few hardships and challenges
all of which strengthened us. Among the hard stuff we were blessed with the most amazingΒ tiny human named Hunter who is 7 months!

In the 19 months of marriage I’ve learned…

You will get back what YOU first put in.

For example; if you have a box and you continue to put fun things like, trinkets, love letters, ticket stubs and souvenirs into it, what will you be able to get out of it? Trinkets, love letters, ticket stubs and souvenirs right?


Well the same is in marriage.

While the box may be metaphorical and the “things” are more like effort, understanding, being fun, or helping your spouse when they need it, theoretically it should work the same way!

When they see/experience you giving yourself for them or a mutual cause they will be much more likely to do the same. However on the opposite side of the spectrum if you are continually expecting things, not giving your all and serving your partner, it can come back to bite you because unless you’re putting things into the metaphorical box, there won’t be anything to take out.

As for you lovely single/ non married folks, I honestly believe this model works and applies to every relationship. Regardless of the caliber of it on a romantic scale. As well as much of life. You’ll get what you put into it.

Β If that relationship is a healthy one… But that’s a totally different topic for a different post. πŸ˜‰
